hello hospiers!!!

this is just a random note.

its been almost 2 years since i was asked to join the amplify hospitality team, and its an understatement to say i've changed in that 2 years (or less).

i've discovered so much more about myself, my potential, my capabilities.

and its really edifying to see the ministry grow so much. from so little to so much.

from just people standing at the door and stairs, to a freakin cafe now! i dont know bout you, but that amazes me.

whats more amazing is people who i see coming back to amp week after week just because someone said hi and had a casual convo with them the first time they came.

the amplify hospitality team's objective, put quite simply: to make people feel home.

and thats exactly how i felt.

and now, as i step out of hospi and into events, i pray that all you new (and old) members will continue to be just a bunch of homely and totally lovable people. because thats what hospi means to me.

and i pray it will mean as much to you as it did to me in the end. wait a minute, there is no end. only moving on.

i love you all. you guys shaped me to be the way i am now.

We had HOSPI CHILLAX on thursday.
A way of saying happy birthday to our two June babies, Lyn and Becks!

First Amp Prayer Meet after YISS!

Hello Hospi!

This blog has remained stagnant for WAY TOO LONG.

YISS is over, but I would definitely not want our love for the people to be over as well! We've all been gifted in the area of HOSPITALITY, so let us all rise up to the occasion (where there'll be many many many people at Amplify Fridays) and serve with all we've got!!

DO I HEAR A YES???

This Friday will be the first Friday after YISS, and we're gonna expect a flood of human traffic to come our way! SO... As we prepare ourselves physically and emotionally for this Friday, I would also like to remind us to prepare ourselves spiritually.

We'll be meeting up for a short prayer before we CHIONG-AH for Eden on Friday at 7.15pm at Amplify Room!
So don't be late k guys?

Nat's challenge!

Hello Hospi. As you would have seen me/heard about me lately. I'm VERY VERY STRESSED.

And I would just like to thank you guys for today. Just being there to listen to me/talk to me/ and affirm me until your mouth goes dry. (:
It was God working through you guys, and when you guys spoke, I just felt that "HEY! What am I doing sitting down here? And feel as though the world is coming to and end? Feeling stressed about what's going on?"

It totally taught me one lesson,
EVERYONE CROSSES HURDLES, IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME.

Bringing this to Hospi team level - We'll definitely face problems as a subministry in the time to come (as you know, we've got a few ideas on our hands that we want to materialise).
We WILL NOT be brought down because of hurdles, instead, we'll finish that race with God. And when we complete that race, all glory will be given to Him. Because it is only in Him that we'll find our strength. RIGHT GUYS? (:

And thanks Hospi, for helping me realise, that although we are a small group, we will live out what a FAMILY truly is. We'll always be there! (:

So Hospi, I would like to take this chance, and challenge you:
For this whole week (until next Friday-till we meet again), get to know someone else from THIS FAMLIY better. Find out what he/she likes or dislikes.
And as we grow closer, we will start to think like each other, and when we bring God into this closely-knitted family, we will -TOGETHER- start to think like God.

Hello. Thanks Larris for that contribution. Oh yes, I've not really said much ever since I got this blog started (which was just yesterday?).

We're gonna use this blog as a platform for us to disseminate information, share pictures or inform each other upcoming events... And even chat with people! (But of course, go to amplifytag.blogspot.com, I'm sure many more people refer there).

And we had our First Hospitality Team meeting in 2007 just yeseterday (30th Jan). A few issues were discussed, and we've thought about different ways to repackage Eden so that more people will come and support us!

Thank you all for coming down, it just made me feel like it's all worth it, even though I was sick and I went for meeting. Without you guys, life would be a journey without companions.

Let us try to achieve that 'transparency' that Lydia was talking about. Let us try to be open with each other, so that we can learn from our mistakes and allow the group to move forward!

i am unable to make it for hospi meeting today so i decided to just pop by and contribute a few words.

whee.

for the person reading this, who are we?
well, firstly we are a bunch of young hip exciting people with one thing on our minds.
guess?
bingo!
to serve GOD.
what i believe is that to serve GOD, one must serve and love each and everyone he comes across.
and that is what we're here for!!! (:
to love and serve all the people we can find, channeling the endless flow of GOD's love to them, letting JESUS touch the lives of others thorugh our hands.

i have a vision,
that the whole world knows one another on a personal basis.
no more cliques, no more strangers.
and very importantly,
NO MORE LONERS.

cos its these people we want to reach out too. being alone in this world is definitly not something fun. for some, its more than they can bear. they end up abusing themselves, causing themselves even more pain.

this is our calling, to reach out to those poor souls, to bring them into the FATHER's warm, fuzzy never-ending embrace.(:
so lets come together and make this dream come true.
